2月25日，以“新时代的中国：山西新转型 共享新未来”为主题的外交部第17场省区市全球推介活动在外交部蓝厅举行，国务委员兼外长王毅发表致辞。山西省委书记骆惠宁讲话，省长楼阳生进行推介。外交部党委书记齐玉、副部长乐玉成、张汉晖和130多个国家的驻华使节、国际组织驻华代表及工商界代表、中外专家学者和媒体记者等500余人出席。

王毅表示，2019年是新中国成立70周年。70年来，中国共产党领导全国人民团结一心，艰苦奋斗，取得了国家发展建设的辉煌成就。为此，2019年的外交部全球推介活动将围绕“新时代中国，70年成就”这一主题展开，今天是开场，推介的主角是山西。
王毅表示，山西是中国著名的历史文化大省和资源大省。党的十八大以来，山西与时俱进，迈上了转型发展的新征程。在习近平总书记亲自关心下，山西省委省政府以壮士断腕的勇气大力推动绿色转型，打造新兴产业集群，构建起多元支撑的现代产业体系，古老的三晋大地正在焕发勃勃生机，展现光明未来。
王毅强调，2019年的中国，将继续深化改革、扩大开放，与各国携手同行。今年4月，我们将在北京举办第二届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛。这是今年中国最重要的主场外交，也是共建“一带一路”迈入新阶段的重要标志。我们将本着共商共建共享的精神，与各方进一步凝聚共识，明确方向，扩大成果，推动“一带一路”建设向着更高质量、更高标准和更高水平迈进。
骆惠宁表示，近年来，山西新转型呈现出强劲态势，取得了积极成效。山西新转型的主要目标，就是按照习近平总书记的指示精神，建设国家资源型经济转型示范区、打造全国能源革命排头兵、构建内陆地区对外开放新高地。山西将进一步融入“一带一路”建设，加强与世界各国的经济往来和合作共赢。
楼阳生从创新发展、文化传承、绿色生态、幸福民生、开放优势等方面对山西进行了推介，邀请各国朋友共享转型发展新机遇，共赢开放合作新未来。
泰国驻华大使毕力亚·针蓬、德国驻华大使葛策、新西兰驻华大使傅恩莱、阿根廷驻华大使盖铁戈分别介绍了各自国家与山西合作情况，表示对山西丰富的历史文化遗产和近年来创新发展印象深刻，愿与山西相互借鉴发展经验，继续积极推动本国与山西经贸、投资、农业、文化、体育等领域交流合作。
推介活动前，山西省政府举办跨国企业合作恳谈会，外交部副部长张汉晖、山西省副省长王一新出席。
